Newcomer Cailee Spaeny has joined Jeff Bridges and Chris Hemsworth in Bad Times at the El Royale, Drew Goddard’s contained thriller being made by 20th Century Fox.
Goddard wrote the script and is directing and producing. A January start of production is being eyed.
Many of the details are being kept behind the front desk, but it is known that the story is set in the 1960s at the El Royale, a rundown hotel near California’s Lake Tahoe. It centers on a cast of characters whose own shady agendas will violently collide.
Bridges is said to be playing a down-on-his-luck priest, while Hemsworth’s characters details are unknown. Spaeny will portray an impressionable Southern girl hiding out at the hotel.
The actress is relatively new to the industry and is making her feature debut with Pacific Rim: Uprising opposite John Boyega. She will also be seen in indie The Shoes, which is in the midst of wrapping production. Spaeny is repped by WME and Femi Oguns at Identity Agency Group.
