It's a well-oiled racket that Marla and her business-partner and lover Fran (Eiza González) use with brutal efficiency on their latest "cherry," Jennifer Peterson (two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest) -- a wealthy retiree with no living heirs or family. But when their mark turns out to have an equally shady secret of her own and connections to a volatile gangster (Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage), Marla is forced to level up in a game only predators can play -- one that's neither fair, nor square. Audience Consensus

Rosamund Pike and Peter Dinklage do good work, but they're acting in a dark and ugly story that doesn't give the audience anyone to root for.

Oscar L One of the worst movies ever made. Possibly the worst. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Pureart P This movie is a must watch if you have elderly people in your life or if you are elderly. Know your rights and protect them at all cost. This movie put a dark humor take on it but, it is a serious issue. Rosemund Pike is sharp, beautiful and talented actress in this movie. Really good and well played. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/21/24 Full Review Audience Member Evil, insipid, boring, infuriating, pretentious, and silly. This one is up there with the worst movies of all time. It completely and utterly fails to make believable characters or communicate any ounce of “satire” of the rot in late stage capitalism. The film critics are wrong, so do not waste your time watching this waste of a movie and save your blood pressure. Ironically, the making of this terrible movie is more emblematic of late-staging capitalism then the movie plot itself. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Reeta V Saw it. Loved it. Would watch again! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review Darcy T Absolutely Fantastic must see of a movie. Rosamund Pike heads the cast in a riff on the scamming of western societies' senior citizens under the guise of guardianship. A fantastic cast including RP and Peter Dinklage head a movie with an amazing plot and characters you are rooting for but know you probably shouldn't be. Excellently photographed, a plot that cracks a long with unpredictable twists and turns. Comeuppance not always delivered where I wanted it to be. Highly recommended, can't wait for the directors next movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review JOSH M Wasn't an exciting movie there is no clear depiction of any virtues or values in summary there is no antagonist or protagonist Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/03/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Elamin Abdelmahmoud BuzzFeed News If the film itself doesn't care to deliver on its own promise, it's hard to imagine why we should care at all. Dec 17, 2021 Full Review Guy Lodge Film of the Week Filmmaking this perversely amoral is never going to be a crowdpleaser, and early responses have been aggressively divided, but I Care a Lot isn't out to be liked: like the best con artists, it gets you caught up in its strut. Mar 23, 2021 Full Review Hannah Giorgis The Atlantic Though the film's final scene suggests a clear judgment of Marla's ethics, much of the preceding dialogue sets her up as the badass boss babe.
